  PERSONALITY.   At first glance Bayan appears to have a tough exterior, but what lies under the surface is someone who's lived a lifetime's worth of hardship, only to come out the other side still gentle, and ready to smile. It takes him a bit to come out of his shell, wanting to stay guarded, but is easily coaxed out.He has the kind of patience to rival the slow heat death of the universe, and the kind of guy to go with the flow, and often takes things in strides.  BACKGROUND.   Though born in Dalmasca, Bayan has little memories of his family, or his homeland. Vague memories are all he has, of moving and parents doing their best, snippets of laughter from siblings he can't remember the faces of, a mother's loving words, and a father's loving embrace. Instead, most of his memories are filled with the cold, harsh winters of Garlemald. Of being taken from his home, and a family that only housed him until he was old enough, and thought nothing of him after his sentence to conscription came back to claim him.His early adulthood was nothing he cares to remember or want to talk about. It was filled with training, and fighting, and killing people he never wanted to harm. People he would beg, practically on his hands and knees, for them to run if he thought he could get away with it. Exhaustion clung to him as he was forced to bury parts of him that cared too much, and so most of these years blur together. His salvation came to him in the form of a Miqo'te, a commanding officer, who organized their collective escape- him, and a few others. One day he was in Garlemald, the next, he was in Eorzea.There he wandered, doing odd jobs, doing anything to survive, while slowly digging up the parts of him that he thought had long since rotted away. Somehow, Bayan landed himself a sort of "home base" in Coerthas, where he eventually met a Viera who would inevitably change his life.In the present, he still does odd jobs here and there, mostly in the business of clearing out monsters, and strictly refuses any job that involves hurting People. There are Exceptions, but he finds it hard to take up arms against someone else.
